The Challenge

So, last summer my mom challenged me to lose 20lbs and she would buy me new clothes. For some odd reason that wasn't motivation enough and I didn't do it.
A couple days ago I brought up the challenge to her again. She said yes and so as of this moment I have 3 months to lose 15-20 lbs. I'm a little nervous, but very excited. Hopefully I can do it.

The Plan:
Join Weight Watchers
Start walking/running
Have others encourage and help along the way
Eat healthier
Pray!

Dec 27th:
New Body
New Attitude
Better Me!

Oh....that is kind of an old picture....new pictures of the awesome new hair will be up soon. Just need to take a picture that I actually like :)
There are many books that I want to read and now have the time and desire to read them. Leading up to my break up I realized that I was quite a prideful person. This is something that I (always) knew, but wasn't ready to fully admit. Now, I know it and I am ready to put my face to the ground and humble myself to say that there is no reason for me to be a proud person, but I am and I want to get rid of it, or at least have the Lord work on me in that area. So, one thing that I decided to do was to read a book on Humility - which I am so glad that I have.
The book is called Humily - True Greatness by C.J. Mahaney (probably totally spelled his name wrong)

Here are a few quotes that I have liked so far:
"From the moment I awake, I've learned to make statements to God about my dependence upon God, and in this way I'm humbling myself before God."
"True Greatness is attained only by emulating the Savior's example - and made possible by the Saviour's sacrifice."
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:6-7

There are many more quotes and awesome teachings C.J. has in this book. I would highly recommend it to anyone, even if you think you don't have a pride issue. I'm sure you do.

God Bless!
